As we are all now aware, COVID-19 has become an increasingly significant threat to the safety of the population not just in Switzerland, but to the world as a whole.

At what., we are able to stay in a relatively stable situation due to our decentralised team structure. The large majority of our team work remotely across the world, and are therefore mostly unaffected by COVID-19. Those working in the Zurich office are now working from home to minimise the risk of infection.

Helping our community

On Friday 13th, we published a Linkedin post to look for ways we could help the community, by offering pro-bono work to develop a solution to fight the spread of COVID-19. Specialising in getting web and mobile apps out into the marketplace fast, and with our ability to help with the concept, design, development and growth, we are in a unique position to be able to help.

The response to the post was unprecedented, and we have now begun work on a tool for Government Institutions to collect reliable information from hospitals and doctors on the status of COVID-19, such as how many hospital beds are available.

This solution, named CoReport and requested by a Swiss Canton, is expected to be deployed this week. Once deployed, it can also be deployed in other locations.

If you are interested in helping with the tool we are developing, or would like to be able to use it for your area, please get in touch with us at hello@what.digital
